‘Cristo Redentor’ is a large statue of Christ that sits on top of Corcovado Mountain that can be seen throughout all of Rio. It often gets struck by lightning and sometimes needs repairs, it stands a symbol of the cities dedication to its faith. We attempted to find a trail to hike down the mountain but it was so overgrown we were unsuccessful at finding it and had to catch a van down. After we washed up from our hike, we spent the rest of the afternoon at Copacabana beach, also known as the most beautiful beach in the world, and we had dinner on the boardwalk where we discussed the days activities and prepared for the next day. We started our day early and took and grabbed breakfast at the corner of our block at which contained an eatery with the best smoothies in the entire world, it was a more than amazing start to our day. After we had all enjoy fresh fruit smoothies and breakfast, we took a ride through Rio and up Corcovado Mountain where we saw amazing views and eventually found our way up to Christ the Redeemer. |
